The baby yawn never gets old. It seems to be an easy thing to capture at the newborn photo session, but it’s a bit harder then you think! Waiting for the right moment is difficult when there’s so much else going on to capture.
This sweet little 3 week old guy totally rocked his newborn photo session at the studio back in January. He slept for just enough time to get those curled up sleepy baby poses, but also opened his eyes to peek at the world around him. I often wonder what they are thinking when they wake up swaddled in a cozy blanket in a place they’ve never been to before. I’m certain they can see my black camera staring right back at them wondering what’s going on. I always love to get the newborn stare if I can, there’s something about those wide open eyes that I just resist.
It seemed the basket next to that big window was the perfect prop for him. He was so content cuddled up in the basket just looking out the window while I photographed him. Mom and dad are usually in awe wondering how they made it so far just admiring their new and precious newborn.
It was just a few short weeks before his arrival that I had mom & dad to the studio for their maternity session. The air was crisp and the leaves falling from the trees as we were settled into another fall season in Bucks County, PA. It’s always a joy reconnecting with mom and dad after their baby is born. The excitement (and exhaustion) is completely different and the conversations change from nursery colors and to do lists to how the delivery went and how baby is sleeping at night!
Thank you mom and dad for allowing me to capture this ever-changing time in your family’s life.
