First Birthday Cake Smash Philadelphia
When mom sent me her ideas for her son’s first birthday cake smash, I was in love with the colors she selected. I knew they would go perfectly with the navy backdrop I love to use in the studio. Every last detail matters when we’re celebrating a first birthday at the studio!
The Birthday Boy
Look at the huge smile! With this handsome and happy 10.5 month old baby, all things were possible. First, we were able to capture some unique and traditional birthday portraits outside the Bucks County studio. Mr A loved the ability to crawl around and get his bearings before we dove into the cake. With such a good temperament, he was always smiling and even came right to me! We waited all winter to hop outside the studio for that beautiful backdrop. It was nice to have such a decent day in April to capture those greens for his outdoor photos.
The Birthday Cake Smash Theme
A’s birthday theme is the blue and white Mickey Mouse theme. Mom sent me his first birthday outfit before the shoot and I went to town pulling the colors together. Balloons and tissue paper are a fun prop to incorporate into the set, so I almost always use them! Afterwards, the tissue paper creations get hung in my studio.
Mom and dad grabbed the cake by a local market on their way to the studio which made thing super simple and gave them the opportunity to pick out something perfect for their son. For cake smashes, I always recommend a certain color palate so our birthday baby isn’t covered in food dye by the end of the photo shoot!
Another lovely family I had the pleasure of working with here! Don’t forget to watch the video below for the home video we made for this family to remember every last detail of their amazing little boy on his birthday!
