First Birthday in Philadelphia
This little one came to me over the holidays for her Christmas portraits at our studio in Newtown. Her grandmother was so pleased with the photo session she wanted to purchase a portrait session gift certificate to give to her daughter to capture Miss G this year to celebrate her first birthday. With a birthday in May, we knew the spring would be the perfect opportunity to plan their first session of the year.
First birthday sessions are my favorite. Usually, the toddler is either walking or standing unassisted while leaning on one of our props. There’s not a worry in the world when they are standing proud showing off their new poses.
The Family
I always encourage the rest of the family to participate in the first birthday photo session for two reasons. One being it’s a great time to get an update family portrait and second reason is that the birthday boy or girl absolutely love being with their parents. This allows us to capture the hands, the walking, the throwing, the tickling, you name it! The outcome is always worth going the extra step to be involved in the first birthday photo session.
The Wall Art
When mom came into the studio to view her daughter’s first birthday photos, she fell in love. She selected so many favorites and decided to create a wall gallery with the images from the session. My favorite part of being a baby photographer is not only working with my clients through the photo session itself, but also seeing their faces when they view their family photos for the first time.
Thank you mom for giving me this fun opportunity!
