Winter Family Outdoor Photo Session
Who knew an outdoor family photo session in the dead of winter could be so beautiful. In Philadelphia, every season offers a unique backdrop for family photos. In the winter, the light is low in the sky giving way for a beautiful soft morning glow.
It was a rather chilly day in February for an outdoor family photo session, so using the indoor/outdoor photo studio was perfect since we could pop inside if needed to warm up. We started the family photo session in the foyer of the studio then made our way outside to the porch. Using the trees and outdoor landscape for our backdrop really complemented the personality of this family. They love being outdoors and spending a lot of their time at Core Creek and Tyler State Park in Bucks County.
When dad first called me to inquiry about a family portrait session, he said these portraits would be true family heirloom and treasured forever. Creating family art for their home to hang and enjoy each day was important. With this in mind, I captured a variety of both candid and posed moments for them to choose from. They selected the image of the whole family holding hands as a 16×20 for their home and will be creating a wall display with a handful of the other photos from their session.
Beautiful family photo session!
