A Warm Fall Day in Newtown, PA
It was a warm fall day in Newtown, PA. This lovely family of four by for their outdoor fall pictures. They are currently living in Lower Bucks from overseas so it was important for them to capture their time here in the US (going on year 5!) Working with teenagers always changes things up a bit for me as I’m used to the younger crowd – the little guys that love to run wild.
I loved everything about this outdoor photo shoot. Some of my favorite poses to include during these types of sessions include; sitting on the big front porch very casually and hugging under the foliage-filled trees out front.
Timing of Family Pictures
It’s true that we tend to take fewer family portraits as the kids grow. Perhaps we see fewer changes in them as they go through high school? To me, this is a time of miraculous changes. The early high school years seem so youthful as they have just graduated from the 8th grade. The senior year and going into college are a bit more mature. Is this true?
These brotherhood moments seem so surreal for mom and dad. They come back to look at their portraits and the ones of the kids always surprise them. Where did my babies go? A photograph is great in that in freezes the subjects for the viewer to have a good look. Often with our kids and teens, they move so quickly, therefore, we don’t get a good chance to see and hold onto their beauty.
This photograph depicts the closeness in this family — mom and dad holding hands with big smiles on their faces.
A favorite spot of mine at the outdoor studio on S. State Street in Newtown, PA — smack in the middle of these two trees!
Mom was smiling ear to ear when I asked if she wanted a photograph of her with her two sons.
Thank you so much, mom and dad, for letting me capture you all during the special time in your families lives. Best wishes as you travel back home!
