A SAYEN GARDEN PHOTO SHOOT | HAMILTON NJ FAMILY PORTRAITS

There’s something truly special about being able to see a child (and their family) grow year after year. To hear the words they’ve learned, to see how much taller they’ve gotten, and to notice how they continue to grow into their own bright personalities. I’ve had the distinct pleasure of being able to do just that for this dazzling family, as I’ve photographed their beautiful children to mark their ages each year.

The first session was their boy’s first birthday cake smash where we got the most darling photos of him admits blues and greens reminiscent of the sea. I was thrilled to be able to connect with them again on this beautiful Spring day to capture portraits of their family all together.

SAYENS GARDENS FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY : A PERFECT BACKDROP

For this photography session, the family of four traveled from NJ to Bucks County to this outdoor studio in Newtown. Sayen Gardens is a sanctuary for nature-lovers and garden enthusiasts, and it provides the perfect setting for portraits, in addition to weddings and parties of all kinds.

This sweet family fit right in with the vibrant pops of color and the feeling of vibrancy that Spring brings. It was the perfect day and a wonderful time of year to capture these amazing portraits. Surrounded by an abundance of green and flowers in full bloom, they fit right in. The simplicity of the navy blue and white they chose for their outfits really allowed the charm of this delightful family to shine through in each image. I was able to focus on their smiles and tender moments. And the vivid touch of color that mom and daughter’s over-the-shoulder cardigans added was a welcome pop of radiance.

Sayen Gardens has a cute little bridge over water that makes for the ideal place for a family portrait. It provides such a wonderful environment and peaceful setting for great pictures.

BUCKS COUNTY FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHERS : PHOTOGRAPHING KIDS AND FAMILY

This session marked 2-years for the daughter and 4-years for the boy. I remember photographing the daughter’s first birthday cake smash as well. Her sweet pink-and-gold theme, complete with a shimmering birthday tutu and easy smile made the most lovable photos.

Now, at 2 and 4, these kids are just so much fun. They are full of energy and play. The key to photographing kids is giving them enough time in the beginning of the session to warm up. Once they are comfortable in their surroundings, letting them play and explore gives me the opportunity to capture wonderfully natural shots like the one at the fountain.

I love using the number balloons in photo sessions as well. They make great props for images and they make it so memorable and celebratory for the kids.

While the focus of the sessions serves as a milestone for the kids ages, marking their growth each year, the parents always jump in to capture some full family portraits because — why not! It would be a shame not to get this darling family’s love for each other on film. I look forward to working with this beautiful family again next year and for years to come!
