In Home Newborn Photo Session | Philadelphia Newborn Photographer

Traveling out in the Philadelphia area for an in home newborn photo session always involves stopping somewhere local for a quick coffee break. It’s great to check out different neighborhoods in the area and get out of the studio for a change.

When we first chat about your vision for a newborn photo session, one of the first questions I like to ask is, what sort of style do you want for your session? There are two completely different newborn sessions that I offer and it’s important to narrow down exactly what you’re looking for before we start planning the rest of your session. Most of the time, I hear “I have no idea which one I want”. It’s true. And I love that answer. It gives me the opportunity to learn more about your individual family.

Next, I’ll ask if you would like your home as a backdrop. Some say yes, others say no. We’ll chat details about siblings and who all will be involved in the session. Since I always encourage families to love on the new little one for their family portraits, it’s important to consider the ages of the siblings. The older they are, the easier it is for them to handle the more formal newborn session at the studio in Bucks County. Often times, they are toddlers. When working with toddlers, I have found me traveling to you for your session is more comfortable for the whole family.

If this is your first baby, the question is simple. Do you envision a posed sleepy baby with a backdrop or would you like the nursery &  master bedroom our environment. Both sessions are equally fun, however, the studio newborn sessions take closer to 3 hours whereas, the in home newborn lifestyle photo sessions take closer to one hour. I arrive with a basket and some accessories and we work 100% around what your baby decides to do within that hour or so that I am there.
