A Margate Beach Photographer’s Dream
When it comes to the summer at the beach, family beach portraits are a must! This stunning family of four looked like they walked straight out of a magazine. And it was truly this Margate Beach photographer’s dream to work with such a sweet, happy family.
We were documenting the little girl’s first birthday. I first photographed them at the same location to celebrate big brother’s first birthday. Soon after, we were at the studio back in Bucks County, PA for their newborn session with his new little sister. (Check out their newborn photography session here.)
The soft pinks, purples, and blues of the sky accented their blue and white outfits nicely. The soft sand provided the perfect foundation for the two little runs to explore and run free. The summer sunset is such a magical time of day, and it seemed to really put everyone in the best of moods for this fun shoot. Taking pictures here on Margate beach, any photographer would feel lucky!
The Family Poses
Family photos on the beach always involve a lot of kissing, laughing, and cuddling. My favorite family pose is the family walking along the shore. This makes for a great photograph from both the front and the back. Swinging the little ones up in the air is an absolute must which yields the fun portraits that capture nothing but pure joy.
The dune area is a great place to start any session. The kids are still a bit reserved and happy to sit on mom and dad’s laps. Once they get bored with sitting still, it’s to the water we go!
Kids are naturally drawn to the ocean if they are familiar with it. The beach experience in general brings out the best in everyone, especially the kids. The little ones immediately run toward the water wanting to jump up and down in the waves. They seem to forget about the photo session as they immediately connect being at the beach with running into the water. The expressions are priceless and it’s truly a blessing to capture these memories.
