The M Family | OCNJ Family Portraits

I really love my career as an Ocean City NJ beach photographer, and it’s sessions like these that make me fall in love with it even more. The salty beach wind, the gentle crashing of the waves, and sea birds soaring above give me a sense of hope that flows into every beach portrait session.

And I couldn’t imagine a better setting to capture the beautiful glow of this family of five than Ocean City Beach, NJ at sunset. You would never know that only a few hours before these gorgeous photos were taken, a huge storm swept through the area.

The storm caused us to push back our session until 7 PM, and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The warmth of the sunset was a perfect complement to the bright corals and natural blues in their wonderfully coordinated outfits.

Often times, the families that I work with are worried about choosing just the right outfit for their beach portraits. They want their photos to have a put-together look, but they aren’t sure where to start. Luckily, I have lots of experience with what works best for your perfect beach photos. Click here to learn 3 super simple clothing tips for your upcoming photo session. (With the right guidance, it’s easier than you think!)

Fun on the Beach

I admire the flexibility of my clients and their willingness to work around the unpredictable weather that the day brought us, especially since they have young children to manage. Their easygoing joy shows through in their photos. They played in the waves, ran through a beach blanket tunnel, and felt the cool sand between their toes.

I love the photo of the girls running beneath the blanket tunnel. Their joy is contagious. Their vintage-style blanket was a lovely prop to have in some of these photographs. It works well as a playful backdrop for the youngest girl’s happy smile and bright eyes.

Ocean City Beach: The Perfect Portrait Location

This wasn’t my first time doing beach portraits with this particular family as their Ocean City Beach Photographer. I was fortunate enough to work with them a few years prior to this session, before their youngest daughter arrived. And I’m honored to be able to see their family grow and capture it as their Ocean City NJ photographer.

Ocean City, NJ really is an ideal location for the perfect beach portrait. With its pure white sand, gentle rolling waves, and dreamy pastel sky, this location is a winner. Depending on the family, I may choose to include the bustling city skyline, the brightly colored lifeguard towers, or the stunningly bold rock formations.

For this particular shoot, the majestic ocean and peaceful beach sky made the best backdrop for this sweet family. The moments captured were authentic, and everyone had a wonderful time.

Thank you so much M Family for trusting me with your OCNJ beach photos! I look forward to capturing your lovely family on film again in the future.
