The photo session is a relaxed and fun family experience. Some of my favorite moments to capture are siblings hugging, a family hug or dad twirling his little girl with a big smile on their faces. These are moments you don’t want to lose sight of. Though I do capture plenty of the sit and smile moments, my most sought out and cherished images from clients are the portraits of their family simply being together, casually sharing a joke or their favorite memory as a family.
Your final collection of individually edited portraits will include a beautiful mix of both candid and posed images for you to choose from to create a package that will be cherished for years to come.
Your experience begins with a quick consult call to introduce myself and identify the needs of your family. I love to hear all about your family and your vision for a session. Once we get a feel for your family (kids ages, style and vision) we’ll discuss the best location for your photography session.
The HTP Style
My approach to photographing children and families is rather unique. Keeping the focus on the subject by using soft tones, natural light and elements of the earth is important to me. The location is set up to keep children engaged and hands on during the shoot. The images are playful and fun. My editing is light, airy and colorful and real to life. Location
With a list of the most beautiful locations in the Greater Philadelphia area, you will not be disappointed with the options. Your backdrop can include a green space, sparkling waters, golden fields and more. With it’s beautiful stone walkways & gardens, our indoor / outdoor natural light, converted farmhouse studio in Newtown, PA is a location that we get the most inquiries for. After you get in touch with us to book a session, we’ll talk about what your vision is for the final product. We match your families personality to one of the several locations we use.

Beach sessions are available and in high demand April through October. We begin booking beach sessions in January. Please use the contact tab and myself or assistant will respond within 24 hours.
The Studio
Located in historic Newtown, Bucks County, voted coolest small town in America in 2011. The indoor/ outdoor photo studio offers organic and earthy backdrop and plenty of treasured spots to work with all subjects of all ages. Sometimes referred to as “the castle” by our youngest clients is nothing short of unique. There is plenty of parking, restrooms on site and easy access to some great restaurants for lunch afterwards.
The Kids – Child Photo Sessions
The HTP photo sessions are designed carefully with your little ones in mind. Before you arrive, I’ll have stations in mind for your family to move through. Since kids only last a few minutes in one spot, this makes it fun to capture a variety of different moments. From the shy to the silly and every personality in between, I have seen it all. I am confident that you will be impressed with the portraits from your family experience.
After your photo session, the best moments from our time together are individually edited to create a beautiful set of melt your heart portraits. Within two weeks we will meet to watch your video that may put you in tears.

Your Cost
Your cost includes a unique family experience from beginning to end. Together, we will create beautiful art for your family to enjoy for generations to come. Before your session, we will discuss where you plan to hang your portraits. During our view + ordering appointment, you will be given ideas on what portraits will look best where and how to go about getting your beautiful art up on those walls. Heather Thomas Photography sessions begin at $690 and include session prep, session time and a $500 credit to apply to the products / package of your choice. Packages begin at $1190 and individual prints, digital images begin at $180.

The Bucks County photography studio is open by appointment only. It is located conveniently off Rt 95 and Rt 1 about 30 minutes north of Philadelphia, 25 minutes south east of Princeton, NJ. Sessions are booking 4-6 weeks in advance.
